The Zik-Zak Rag was written for Oltedal School Band & Magnus Tverberg as a part of the program for the Rogaland School Band Championships in March 2013. The little gimmick rag falls into 3 sections. After the opening bars, the main theme is played by the soloist. Then a legato and lyrical side theme. The piece closes with a repetition of the main theme. The Zik-Zak Rag is a simple tune and should be played with a smile. The solo-part could also be played by tenor horn.
